What is Raw Feeding?

Raw feeding (also called BARF or prey model) is a species-appropriate diet for dogs based on uncooked muscle meat, raw meaty bones, organ meats, and sometimes fruits and vegetables. The two main approaches are:

BARF Model

70% muscle meat, 10% raw meaty bone, 5% liver, 5% other secreting organ, 10% fruit and vegetables.

Prey Model

80% muscle meat, 10% raw meaty bone, 5% liver, 5% other secreting organ. No plant matter.

Each breed guide below includes a feeding model match based on that breed's specific health needs, along with protein rotation schedules and supplement guidance.

This rotation plan is generated based on general nutritional guidelines. Always consult your veterinarian before making significant dietary changes, particularly for pets with health conditions.

Nutritional data is based on published averages. Actual nutrient content varies by product, cut, and source.
