Pet profiles

Your pet's name, breed, species, date of birth, weight, and any health records you choose to enter (medications, vaccinations, weight history).

Documents

Vet records, lab results, and prescriptions you upload. These are stored securely and only you can access them.

Feeding logs

If you use the raw feeding planner: what you feed your pet, feeding reactions, and nutritional data you enter.

Usage data

Pages visited, features used, and clicks — collected via PostHog analytics to help us understand how people use the product and where to improve.

Device information

Browser type and IP address, collected for security purposes (detecting unauthorized access, preventing abuse).

How We Use Your Information

  • •Product emails — only if you opt in. Things like new feature announcements and feeding tips. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • •Process payments — via Stripe for Pro subscriptions. We never see your credit card number.

Affiliate Links

Love Them Longer contains affiliate links to insurance carriers and pet product brands. Here's how we handle the data around those links:

  • •We track clicks on affiliate links (carrier or brand name, product, and timestamp) for attribution purposes so we know which partnerships are working.
  • •We do not share your personal information (name, email, pet data) with affiliate partners.
  • •Click attribution data is stored locally on our servers and is not sent to third-party tracking services.

Data Storage and Security

  • •Your data is stored on servers in the United States (Linode/Akamai infrastructure).
  • •Passwords are hashed using PBKDF2 with 100,000 iterations — industry-standard protection.
  • •Authentication uses JWT tokens in HttpOnly cookies, which prevents JavaScript-based attacks from accessing your session.
  • •Uploaded documents are stored in encrypted-at-rest storage.
  • •We don't store payment details. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant.

Data Retention

  • •Your data is stored for as long as you have an active account.
  • •When you delete your account, all of your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. This includes your pet profiles, health records, uploaded documents, feeding logs, and account information.
  • •Aggregate, anonymized usage statistics (like "X% of users use the breed health tool") may be retained, but these cannot be traced back to you.

Your Rights

Access

You can view all of your data at any time within the app. Everything we have is shown to you — there's no hidden data.

Export

You can export your pet data at any time. (Full export feature coming soon.)

Delete

You can delete your account and all associated data from the Settings page. Deletion is permanent.

Correct

You can edit any of your information at any time. Pet profiles, health records, and account details are all editable.

Cookies

We use a minimal number of cookies:

Children

Changes to This Policy

We'll update this privacy policy if our data practices change. For material changes, we'll notify registered users by email. We encourage you to review this page periodically. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect when this policy was last revised.
